Have you ever heard the adage, "Eighty percent of success is just showing up"? Well, in college, that percentage is probably more like fifty. Successful college students know that they have to do a lot more than just show up for class in order to earn their degree. Learning is a process that requires many different skills, habits, and attitudes. These include setting goals for your life, balancing schoolwork with the rest of life, approaching course material critically, making the most of class and study time by taking good notes, finding help when you need it, applying problem-solving skills, and taking responsibility for the results you see in your life. The good thing is that everybody can learn these skills and improve in the areas that need work.
