Sex Offender Notification Law
The sex offender notification law requires states to adopt a
system to notify the community that a sex offender has established residence nearby. This
law has been the center of many arguments. On the one hand, this community notification law
seems a good way of allowing residents to protect themselves and their families from a convicted

he has already served his sentence. In addition, it incites people to vigilante justice and
prevents offenders from ever returning to a normal life. Given these limitations, the notification
