Grammar Explanation

Before you hand in a paper, check to see that all verbs are in the correct form. Make sure that:
•  Each verb has a final –s when it follows a subject that is or can be replaced by he, she, or it.
See Exercise 2.
•  Past forms of verbs are used in sentences that describe past events.
See Exercise 3.
•  The auxiliaries do, does, did, and modals such as should, could, must, and can are followed by the base form of the verb.
See Exercise 5.
•  Gerunds (e.g., going) and infinitives (e.g., to go) are used correctly.
See Exercise 6.
