to the possessive forms of singular count and non-count nouns.
- Example: The mayoral candidate expressed her opposition to the government's
decision to raise taxes.

plural nouns that end in –s.
- Example: The board members are still debating the issue. The board
members' decision will be made public next week.

irregular plural nouns that do not end in –s.
- Example: Public opinion polls indicate people's
feelings about important political issues.

Note that the possessive form of the pronoun it
is its – not it's.
- Example: At the convention, the party introduced its candidate for the presidency.
