Introduction to Exercise 2 - Using possessive endings correctly
Grammar Explanation

•  Add an apostrophe with s (–'s) to the possessive forms of singular count and non-count nouns.
  • Example: The mayoral candidate expressed her opposition to the government's decision to raise taxes.
•  Add an apostrophe alone to the possessive forms of plural nouns that end in –s.
  • Example: The board members are still debating the issue. The board members' decision will be made public next week.
•  Add –'s to the possessive forms of irregular plural nouns that do not end in –s.
  • Example: Public opinion polls indicate people's feelings about important political issues.
•  Note that the possessive form of the pronoun it is its – not it's.
  • Example: At the convention, the party introduced its candidate for the presidency.
